A Lunch Fit For A Princess

We had another magical meal! Technically this would be great for any princess, not necessarily just for the Disney-loving princess. Ashlyn loves when I surprise her with lunches like these. They just make regular ol' lunchtime into something a little more fun!

She had a ham and cheese crown sandwich with sprinkle gems, yogurt with heart sprinkles, strawberries, and mango flowers.

Chip & Company Food Challenge

I'm sure many (if not most) of you follow Chip & Company, but have you seen their Disney Food Challenge? It's a list of 100 signature Disney foods to try before you die. I definitely do not branch out as much as I would like when eating at Disney so I think this list is a fun way to remember to try more of what the parks and resorts have to offer. I am very much still a Disney Noobie when it comes to food, but I plan on changing that quickly! :) How did you score and does this motivate you, as it does me, to try some new food at Walt Disney World?

Disney Dinner

Recently we spent a day at Downtown Disney at WDW. I knew before we went that I wanted to look in Mickey's Pantry for a good children's cookbook. My husband works the night shift a few times a week so I wanted to start letting Ashlyn pick a meal each week from the cookbook that we could easily make together. We ended up getting this cookbook and it is great!

Anyway, last week Ashlyn wanted to make the Cheater's Pizza (english muffin pizzas). So we got all the ingredients and when that night came and we started putting all our toppings on, I realized it would be so easy to make them into Mickey and Minnie pizzas (I tried to make a bow for Minnie out of tomato pieces)!

So I did it to show Ashlyn and she loved it so she made her own Mickey (complete with olive nose and tomato mouth).

It was a lot of fun and super easy to do any time you need a little dose of Disney at home!

Disney Lunch

Another way I like to bring the Disney magic home is by making a Disney themed lunch for my daughter. I am going to start sharing some of the lunches I come up with. I decided this the other day (I was trying to post this the day I made it, but I wasn't able to load pictures until now for one reason or another), when I didn't really have a lot of stuff to choose from since I hadn't planned it, but I thought that would be good because I can show you it's easy to just throw together a Disney lunch with whatever you have lying around.

Here is a simple, Mickey Mouse meal.

A Mickey Mouse shaped pb&j sandwich, a cheese stick, and cheese crackers (since the big cheese has to have some cheese :D ) all on a Mickey glove plate. I honestly really dislike putting a plate of all brown/beige foods in front of my daughter or husband normally, so usually she has some fruit or something with lunch, but we're due for some grocery shopping. ;)

Do you put together Disney themed meals or snacks?

Target Finds

For awhile now I've seen cute little Mickey shaped plates on other movie night pictures I've seen and the comment is always "I got them at Target!" Well, anytime I looked, my local Target didn't have them. :( Finally a couple of days ago I went to try and snag some discounted Halloween decorations (that's how I generally build up my holiday decorations unless there is something I absolutely fall in love with and don't want to risk losing) and they had some out!

I also grabbed a cute Christmas serving tray.

They had these three things as well as a few other very cute Mickey and Minnie Christmas dishes. I wanted to let you all know in case you were looking for some Mickey dishes, too!

Spotlight Friday

Each Friday I shine the spotlight on a Disney-related site that I have found and enjoy. I know I love discovering new (or at least new to me!) Disney websites and blogs and want to pass them on to you!

Ever feel like when you are going to eat at a theme park that your options are pretty much chicken fingers and hamburgers? Well, that is definitely not the case at Disney! The Disney Food Blog, where "food IS a theme park," is all about the edible at Disney. There are mouth-watering pictures, wonderful reviews, information, and much more.

Each trip I take to a Disney park, I like to try and do at least one new thing. If you are wanting to try a new restaurant, The Disney Food Blog is a great resource. It is a very fun blog, but don't read it on an empty stomach!
