I do apologize for the lack of posting on here for quite awhile, besides my Magical Blogorail posts. I will hopefully be back full-time soon. :) For now, however, we are talking about the best places for budgeting and splurging on breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Honestly, we have not been to too many restaurants at the parks, but we are working on it! I also need to take some more pictures while I'm walking around! lol I usually tend to take detail type pictures, but that doesn't always help. ;) Some of my favorite restaurants so far are pretty in the middle, price wise. But one place we always thought was worth splurging on was Cinderella's Royal Table.
We had so many wonderful interactions with the princesses without having to wait in a line. We really enjoyed the food and seriously, who doesn't want to eat inside the castle?! There are MANY dining experiences I would love to partake in when given the chance, though. Victoria & Albert's, Hoop-Dee-Doo, and more!
Now, it is definitely hard to stay on a budget at Disney, but it can be done! One of our favorite "dining spots" for when we're trying to save a bit of money is really anywhere cool and pretty where we can people watch.
We pack a few sandwiches and snacks in a small cooler to eat whenever we want. Then we will usually have a small dinner somewhere that evening. There are plenty of great quick service places that aren't too expensive, too. Casey's Corner in the Magic Kingdom is wonderful and very kid-friendly, what with yummy hot dogs and french fries and sports cartoons playing. We also enjoy Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe. We actually just recently ate for the first time in the room with Sonny Eclipse!
As you can tell, we know our way around the Magic Kingdom much better than any other park, though we have begun spreading our wings and exploring the other parks in more depth. We actually had a great experience at the Rose & Crown at Epcot that I will tell you more about soon!
Thank you for joining me today. Your next stop on the Magical Blogorail Loop is Can Do It Mom AKA Mouse Fan Diane.
Here is the map of our Magical Blogorail should you happen to have to make a stop along the way and want to reboard:
1st Stop ~ 400 Miles to Disneyland
2nd Stop ~ Picturing Disney
3rd Stop ~ Disney in Our Blood (you are here)
4th Stop ~ Can Do It Mom AKA Mouse Fan Diane
We love Cinderella's Royal Table, but it definitely is a splurge, especially when traveling in a large party. :-) But really it is worth it to see our girls' faces light up each time they see a princess round the corner to our table.
ReplyDeleteGreat tip on bringing in the sandwiches, we usually do bring some snacks and drinks in. Dining at Cinderellas Castle is one of our favorites too.
ReplyDeleteWith 2 boy, I don't see myself eating at CRT anytime soon, but remember loving it college (prior to characters being at dinner) - so at least I've been in there! Sonny is one of my favorite lunch rooms... the food is fine, but that silly guy makes me happy!
ReplyDeleteI loved CRT in January!
ReplyDeleteWe have never done Cinderella's Royal Table (we have all boys) but Hoop Dee Doo is a favorite splurge of ours. So casual yet so much fun!
ReplyDeleteI think you did a great job of talking about budgeting and splurging on Disney dining! Before we discovered the DDP, we would always bring in most of our food and then do QS for lunch or supper.
ReplyDeleteDDP makes splurging a bit easier, but we've still never done Cinderella's Royal Table. The cheapskate in me can't see using 2 credits for it when we can dine with the princesses at Akershus (and my kids LOVE the food there!) We have done Hoop Dee Doo, though, and I would HIGHLY recommend it.
Casey's is our go to quick service at the Magic Kingdom. Something there for everyone. We like the new menu at CRT so much better. It's an experience you need to do at least once.
ReplyDeleteI haven't tried Cinderella's Royal Table since it became a princess meal. Does it feel rushed since it is such a popular meal?
ReplyDeleteWe have only had the chance to go to Cinderella's Royal Table a couple times as for some reason our son just doesn't put it high on his list, but we loved the food every time. We pack drinks and snacks as well, helps with the budget for sure.
