Disney Rituals

Welcome to the first stop aboard Magical Blogorail Peach. Enjoy the ride as we share our Disney rituals.

If you've been reading this blog for awhile, you know that my home park is Walt Disney World but I grew up with Disneyland.  Disneyland was my home park for so long that when I thought of this topic, I went straight to thinking about my rituals when I went there.  So I thought I'd share our rituals for both places!

My dad and I have the same ritual when entering and leaving Disneyland.  It's simple, but we HAVE to do it.  We have to say hello, goodbye, and thank you to Walt.  You see, Walt had an apartment right above the firehouse on Main Street.  After he passed, a light was put in his window which is always lit in his honor.  So we both wave and silently say our thanks for creating such a magical world.

from DISunplugged because my dad has all the Disneyland pictures... note to self: must get copies

I now spend my Disney days at Walt Disney World with my husband and daughter (with special appearances from my dad and in-laws sometimes, but mainly just us three).  We have a few things we do every time we visit the Magic Kingdom (having only been to the other parks a time or two, we don't have rituals for them... yet).  One is the fact that we always end our trip with the Magic Kingdom (if we are going to other parks that trip).  While I love the other parks, the Magic Kingdom is just absolutely the most magical in my opinion.  And first thing we do when we enter the park is bee line it to the start of Main Street to look at Cinderella Castle.  This ritual is mainly in thanks to my daughter.  :)  She loves it and must go and take it all in first thing.

Our other ritual started from the first time we went when my daughter was 2 months old and we just have done it every time since.  Every time my daughter needed to nap, we took her over to the rose garden area by the castle since there is a covered area and it is quiet.  Even now that she doesn't nap anymore (though most days I wish she did! ;)  ), we still go there to recharge at least once a trip.

Do you have any Disney rituals?  Things you just must do every trip or a certain order that you have to do things in?
