Our Disney Trip is HOW Far Away?!?

Welcome to those of you joining me from 400 Miles to Disneyland and those of you just hopping aboard. I am the final stop on our Magical Blogorail.

This month we are talking about how we keep the Disney magic alive when you've still got a TON of days before your next trip. I love this topic, but that might be obvious since that's what I focus on on this blog. I'm always looking for new ways to keep the Disney magic going while at home!

One thing we do a lot around here are movie nights, and we increase those when we have a trip coming up. I love doing a big night with different Disney themed foods and watch the Disney planning DVD at 100 days out. But another thing we love to do is make a countdown calendar! We generally put that up at 100 days out, too. It's been a couple of years since we have done this "calendar" that I'm going to share with you, but it was awesome and we're coming up on our 100 day mark before our September trip soon, so I am going to be doing it again! Anyway, I printed out a few pages with some of Ashlyn's favorite characters on them and let her color them (or scribble, since she was a lot younger).

I then cut them into strips. On each strip I put an activity or fun Disney fact for us to do/read each day leading up to our trip. I then made the strips into links and the links into a chain and we put it up in our dining room where we would remember to take a link down each morning.

All three of us really enjoyed this and I am really excited now to plan our next one! It made the time seem to go faster and it was exciting to watch the chain get shorter and shorter. With Ashlyn being a couple of years older now, I know she will enjoy it even more.

Thank you for joining Magical Blogorail Peach this month. We will be back in July with an all new theme. If you are looking for more Disney magic, you can make your way over to The Magical Blogorail website to see all our members and their blogs.
