It's The Disney Countdown

Every year so far we have spent Ashlyn's birthday (or as close to the day as we could) at Walt Disney World.  This year will be no exception.  She will be turning 4 in September and we will be staying in a Little Mermaid room at the new Art of Animation resort as well as having lunch at Cinderella's Royal Table!  We've done a countdown to our trip before and now that Ashlyn is a bit older, I thought it would be a lot of fun to do again.  I wanted to share our calendar with you and some of the activities we have to go along with it.  I'll post a list of what we've done each week.

A lot of people whose countdown calendars I've seen start at a month or two out.  For some reason I like to torture myself and make it 100 days out.  I've done a link chain calendar in the past and was going to do the same this time until I saw this one at Mule 'n Nag Crafts.  Here's my version.

You can't see it in the picture, but I wrote "Sleeps 'Til Disney" on the pink part of the sign.  So far we have pulled off three Mickey heads.

100:  100 Days 'til Disney!  Watch Disney videos.
*We watched a couple of Disney shows that had aired on the Travel Channel and I had saved on DVR (we haven't had DVR in 5 years and just got it a month ago... only because it wasn't available to us for that long... it's so cool to have it again  lol).  This is the day Ashlyn found out about our trip.  She was super excited and when I told her she could meet Merida when we go... MAN did she flip!*

99: Bounce around the room like Tigger.
*I got this idea from the same website as the countdown calendar design and I thought it was a cute, quick activity and have a few more like it scattered throughout in days to come.*

98: Have a tea party.
*This one needs no explanation.  Just something fun. :) *

I love walking by this and seeing the rainbow waterfall of Mickey heads.  I'll love it even more as they start disappearing.  :)

  1. That's a great idea! And what a special way to celebrate your daughter's birthday at WDW!! We spent my daughter's 2nd bday at Disneyland and I wish we could do that every year but her birthday is in August--right during the big summer crowd! That's probably why I always choose to spend my October birthday at Disneyland because it's less crowded. :-)

    1. How exciting! And thank you. :) I love seeing how excited Ashlyn is every morning to take down another Mickey and see what we're going to do that day.
