This week we had a very fun movie night... Snow White!
Our decorations were some of Ashlyn's Snow White toys (above), our own Magic Mirror and a fun printable
and our table was all decked out in Snow White colors and there were Ring Pops waiting for us.
I didn't take a picture of dinner. Honestly, I was starving so I cared more about getting it in my tummy than on my camera. ;) Anyway, we had schnitzel with noodles (since those are a few of my favorite things) and potato salad. I really wanted to make gooseberry pie, but do you know how difficult it is to find gooseberries this day and age? Well, at least at our local Winn-Dixie and Publix? So we got some apple pie instead.
I got a cool puzzle at the Target Dollar Spot that Ashlyn and I put together.
We also mined for the Dwarves' jewels. I put some "jewels" in some rice (I hid them under the rice before we played) and used an aluminum pie plate (with holes poked in it) to dig in the rice and sift through to find the jewels. Ashlyn LOVED this! Then we counted them and sorted them by color and then by shape. She wanted to do all this over and over again.
We also played with a whistle Ashlyn has. I would sing the "Whistle While You Work" song and she would use the whistle.
This movie night was a blast! This coming weekend we will be having two mini movie nights. Friday is May 4th so... MAY the FOURTH be with you! We will be having a Star Wars themed dinner and watching the movie. Then of course Saturday is Cinco de Mayo! We will be having a Saludos Amigos movie night (none of us have seen it yet so I'm very excited). So stay tuned!
You are so creative! That mining game looks like so much fun! I'm going to try this with my daughter.
ReplyDeleteHope you enjoy Saludos Amigos! It's one of my favorites!!
This is one of my favorite movie nights that you have done!!! It looks like so much fun! I haven't seen Snow White since I was a kid... we own it, I should watch it sometime! I totally want to do the mining activity with Dawson. He would have a blast!
ReplyDeleteOh, I love it! The mining is such a great idea! We'll have to try that here. :)
