Movie Night - Lady and the Tramp

Lady and the Tramp came out of the vault yesterday and we had a movie night to celebrate!

Normally we wouldn't have a movie night on a Tuesday because it just doesn't work very well with our schedules (which means I don't get everything done that I want to), but we wanted to celebrate the release. The night before, I cut out some shapes from poster board to make a doghouse door. The day of, Ashlyn colored it and decorated it with dog stickers. I then attached it to an empty box.

Ashlyn LOVES pretending to be a puppy pretty much every day so I thought she'd like some ears and a collar to wear for the movie. I just made them out of ribbon and construction paper I had.

And here's little Ashlyn puppy in her doghouse!

For dinner (we were starving since hubby just got off work and we just got back from Ashlyn's dance class so we dug in before remembering to take a picture) we had spaghetti and meatballs, garlic bread sticks, and salad.

For dessert, we had gelato to stay with the Italian theme. I had picked up a few bowls from the Dollar Store and attached paw print stickers to make dog bowls to eat our gelato from!

Real (clean and new, of course) dog bowls would be so cute, but our Dollar Store only had huge ones but these worked out just as well.

Other cute ideas would be to make a plate of spaghetti with yellow and red yarn and brown pom poms glued onto a paper plate and have some of your kids' stuffed dogs sitting around a table sharing it. Puppy Chow (also known as Muddy Buddies; chex cereal covered with melted chocolate, peanut butter, and powdered sugar) or bone-shaped graham crackers would also be super cute snacks.

We're attempting another movie night on a Tuesday in a couple of weeks, but I'll try to remember to take more pictures! ;) February 21st is Mardi Gras so we're having a Princess and the Frog movie night to celebrate!

  1. I am definitely going to try some of these ideas! We haven't gotten the Lady and the Tramp movie yet, but plan to very soon! Looking forward to the Princess and the Frog theme. Tiana is Emily's favorite princess!

  2. The dog house turned out so cute!! I'm totally doing that if we have a Lady and the Tramp movie night! We still haven't watched it yet because we were too busy on Tuesday and then we were going to watch it last night but Dawson was being super naughty so we decided to put it off another night. Maybe we'll see it tonight!
