If You Take Your Daughter To Disney

I'm a big fan of Shutterfly (we've been getting our Christmas cards and calendars through them for a few years now along with a few other things) and have been wanting to make a special Disney photo book for awhile now. Well, when my mother-in-law mentioned that she wanted a photo book for Christmas, I was able to take advantage of a promotion Shutterfly had at the time which also allowed me to make a second photo book for a great price. So I figured it was the perfect time to get off my tushy and make our Disney book. Ever since I wanted to make it, I was thinking of fashioning it after the "If You Give..." series of books by Laura Numeroff. We LOVE this series. So, I set to it and we absolutely love it.

(This is the cover and the layout says "Sometimes she may feel it's a pirates life for her, but she'll always be a little princess." There are 20 pages in the book.)

I tried to write it like the "If You Give..." series, so, for example, the last three pages say "When you get home, she'll dream of going back. She'll want to look at all your pictures. And chances are, if you let her look at the pictures, you'll have to take her back to Disney."

It is a wonderful way to relive our Disney memories and I hope to do this every few years (with this book I put on the title page that it was from 2008-2011), even if they aren't all in the same style. I think it would be fun to do our Disney version of different books or movies each time, though (Star Wars, fairy tales, who knows!). What do you like to do with your Disney photos?

  2. This is perfect. Being a fan of Disney, just took trip #39 this past summer with family including grandkids, as well as a fan of that series of books, I think that it is an excellent idea. One that I may just have to do for my grandkids as well. Excellent job, and thanks for the idea!

  3. Wow, thank you so much! :) Beth, you are so sweet. Thank you for sharing the link! Debbie, I think your grandkids would love it. Ashlyn always asks to read it and loves to talk about all the pictures. It's a short book, but it ends up being one of our longest bedtime stories because of it. :)
