Each week I post a quote from Walt Disney, a Disney movie, ride, etc. to keep the Disney spirit going... even on a Monday!
Why, Mr. Scrooge, Merry Christmas.
[Scrooge barges in]
Won't you come in?
Merry Christmas? Humph! I have another bundle for you.
But sir, it's Christmas Day.
Christmas Day, indeed! Just another excuse for being lazy. And another
thing, Cratchit: I've had enough of this 'half-day off' stuff! You leave
me no alternative...
[changing his attitude]
...but to give you...
[sees the contents of the now open bag] Toys!
Yes, toys. No no no no no no no!
I'm giving you a raise... and making you my partner.
~ Mickey's Christmas Carol
Here is some cool trivia about Mickey's Christmas Carol. Find more at imdb.com:
* The theatrical release of this film was as part of the 1983 reissue of The Rescuers.
* Voice actor Will Ryan came up with the idea to recreate Willie the Giant's (The Ghost of Christmas Present's) flub of the word "pistachio" from Mickey and the Beanstalk.
* Of all the songs on the original album, only "Oh What A Merry Christmas
Day" made it to the animated cartoon. The rest of them - including one
sung by Ebenezer Scrooge that was called "How Christmas Ought To Be" -
were all dropped, and the lyrics were rendered into normal dialog.
