Adding Pixie Dust to the Holidays

Welcome to those of you joining me from 400 Miles To Disneyland and those of you just hopping aboard. I am the 2nd stop on our Magical Blogorail.

When I first read that our topic this month was about celebrating the holidays in the parks or Disney-style at home, I wasn't sure which way I wanted to go with it. We've celebrated Halloween at Disney (even if it wasn't actually on Halloween)

but I've already talked about that... a couple of times.

I've visited Disneyland and the Magic Kingdom during Christmas and have seen the beautiful decorations, but I haven't done anything like Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party or gone over to Disney's Hollywood Studios for the Osborne Family Spectacle of Lights. (Oh, don't worry, that will be remedied one of these days.)

So then I started thinking about what we do at home. But we don't necessarily have any traditions. We have touches of Disney, like many ornaments on our tree at Christmas or our Mickey trick-or-treat pumpkin at Halloween. And we do special holiday-themed movie nights close to any particular holiday which I will always post about. So I wanted to talk about a Disney Christmas tradition that I want to start, hopefully this year.

I can't remember where I first read this idea, but I love it. We put our tree up the day after Thanksgiving every year (or the closest to that, depending on work schedules or if we are out of town). We are looking at purchasing the Walt Disney World Resort Railroad Train Set to set around our tree. How cool would that be? Ashlyn LOVES trains and all types of transportation right now so this year would be the perfect year to start.

But the train wouldn't go up the same day the tree does. Oh, no! It will go up on December 5th to celebrate Walt Disney's birthday. We have a lot of wonderful Christmas traditions and I know this one will fit right in. :)

Thank you for joining me today. Your next stop on the Magical Blogorail Loop is Joanna and her LinkAmazing Technicolor Interwebs!

  2. What a great idea. I have a feeling their is a train set in our not-too-distant future, but it's not a Disney one. :(
