Movie Night - Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer

Okay, so I'm a little off the ball with this movie night. It was very last minute because I decided, oh, yesterday or so that I was going to do a Christmas movie night every week up until Christmas. And I know it's not a Disney movie, but I hope you will enjoy it and maybe be able to still get some ideas from it nonetheless! Anyway, we did Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, which is a major favorite in our house.

Before dinner we did a quick craft. I found a box of make-your-own Rudolph ornaments at Michaels and couldn't pass it up, even before I knew we were doing this movie night. I'm a wee bit obsessed with Rudolph. But anyway, Ashlyn had fun making them and loved showing them off.

For dinner, well, again I decided on this very last minute so I just made do with what we had (AND I forgot to take a picture. *sigh*). We were having homemade pizza with fresh mozzarella and tomatoes so I called it Rudolph's Nose At Night Pizza (the mozzarella was the snow and the tomatoes were his nose).

We used special wintry plates. I got these at the Dollar Tree. I love shopping at the Dollar Tree for movie nights so we can afford to do them often.

To drink we (Aaron and I... Ashlyn had milk) had Rudolph Fizzies (aka Sierra Mist Cranberry Splash... some of the best stuff ever). This was a last minute idea and I just made it up really quickly on my computer. It says "Rudolph Fizzies... To keep your nose looking its reddest."

I found this idea on Pinterest and decided it would be perfect for dessert. Very easy and very yummy!

ABC Family is showing both Rudolph's Shiny New Year and Rudolph and the Island of Misfit Toys Monday night starting at 6pm as part of their 25 Days of Christmas! These ideas would be great for that! Next week we are going to have a bit of a mix of things. We will be watching Disney Christmas shorts (like Pluto's Christmas Tree... one of my faves!) and one of the Christmas themed Mickey Mouse Clubhouse episodes. Should be fun!

  1. My daughter watched this movie for the first time 2 nights ago. She loved it! And those snacks are adorable. I need to try making those!
